Betting on NASCAR
Yee haw! People can really get into a good NASCAR rally when the action (and the cars) begins to roll. The popularity of NASCAR continues to grown within America’s heartland, so it only makes sense that people would start to find a way to capitalize on the excitement of these races. It is for these reasons that the option of betting on a NASCAR race came into reality.
NASCAR has gone from the small town enthusiast circles into a full-fledged sport as the years go by, and that momentum has not diminished in the slightest. Each year, more and more interest appears in betting on the sport, providing all sorts of new gambling opportunities.
One of the advantages of NASCAR betting is that the wagering itself is actually pretty simple. To begin, it follows most other sports in using a moneyline (Jimmie Johnson -$120, Kyle Bush +$110, etc.) The big difference with NASCAR betting is the myriad of choices available.
In most sports, the most popular bet is on “who wins”, and NASCAR is no different. But unlike most other sports, NASCAR has several other really popular options – like “top 3” (will the driver place in the top 3), “top 5” “top 10”, which “team” (a stable of drivers) will win, and even which brand of car will win. So even if a bettor is not sure how the outcome of one factor would be, they have plenty of other options to work with.
On many betting entry forms, there is a choice marked “Field”. When this option comes up on a form, it is usually best to turn to other options instead. The reason for this is that “Field” represents all the other drivers that are not specifically named in the sports book. There is a good reason for this: The “Field” represents the drivers that statistically have the lowest chance of winning a race. So unless a player likes to part with money for no good reason (or your cousin is racing), there are definitely better choices to select.
But the choices to make in NASCAR betting are pretty easy to understand and implement. In fact, if a bettor is familiar with the whole concept of sports gambling, this is likely the easiest type of bet to understand.
As any player can see, NASCAR has come into its own as a legitimate sport to place bets on. Whether it is backing a favorite driver, or just trying to make the best estimate as to which driver is going to be the first place winner, the excitement and drama of the revving engines and screeching tires makes the sport irresistible to not try and win a few bucks off of a good time.
Best of luck, and we’ll see you at the races!
