Betting in the Game of Craps: Easy Way Bets
For this bet, we’ll take the easy way out.
As far as Multi-Roll Bets go, the opposite of “Hard Way bets” are “Easy Way Bets”, which means you wager that your choice of 4, 6, 8, or 10 will come up with different numbers on each die before the shooter rolls a 7.
These are good bets for people who want to maximize their chances for big payouts, while also spending more time in the game than single roll bets allow. The odds of winning are a little better than Hard Way bets (as there are more combinations of possible wins), but the payouts are a bit lower, too.
If you want to make an Easy Way bet all you need to do is pick a number, lay a chip on the table and tell the dealer you want: “4 the Easy Way” or “Easy 4”. That’s assuming 4 is your number, of course. Make sure the chip goes on the table since many casinos forbid the staff from taking chips from patron’s hands. Place it on the table, move your hand and let them grab it. It’s one of the casino’s ways of avoiding theft.
So what happens now with your Easy way bet? Let’s assume you choose 4 as your number. Well, if a 7 comes up it’s an automatic loss. If your number comes up “Hard” which means even on both die, then it’s a loss as well. If a 3 or a 1 come up then enjoy your winnings! Now that’s pretty easy to follow! Pick a number, roll until it hits 7, comes up hard, or you win! Let’s hope for wins!
Keep in mind that the Easy Way bet continues despite what may be happening with the shooter. If they win or lose, it probably won’t affect your roll. So when they start a new round, your bet just keeps on going. So just let it ride if you like. If you don’t feel like continuing your bet or it’s just not “feeling right” take the bet back. Many casinos will allow you to withdraw your Easy Way bet. Unless the dice are flying though the air, most dealers won’t care. But remember your ability to withdrawn Easy way bets doesn’t apply to other bets! You can get in serious trouble if you withdraw the wrong bet. Always ask first!
Good luck, and we hope you’ll be on your way to Easy street with a big Easy way jackpot.
