Macau, known as the "Monte Carlo of the Orient," has been in the gaming business since the 19th Century. Within Macau, the Marina Casino has one of the most distinctive location of any casino in the world. Poised at the tip of Taipa Island, the Marina Casino appears to rise right out of the water in a 10-story wave.
The casino soars three stories high, with 37 gaming machines and 20 table games that feature all of the classic Western table games. But gaming isn't the only, or even perhaps the primary draw of the Marina Casino. This first-class hotel offers 312 cozy, well-appointed rooms, complete with all the amenities travellers expect, including air conditioning, satellite TV with pay-per-view movies, high-speed Internet service, and a mini bar. All rooms have private baths, and there is a non-smoking floor (smoking is very common in Macau, so if you are sensitive to smoke, make sure to request a non-smoking room in advance).
The restaurants at Marina Casino offer a variety of cuisines that reflect the Chinese and Portugese heritage of Macau. The Lakeview Cafe presents Portugese and Asian dishes in a casual setting, while for upscale dining the Fortune Palace Restaurant offers the best in Cantonese cuisine, served in a sophisticated ambience by a highly skilled and attentive staff. Dinner buffets and special Chinese tea buffets are offered every weekend.
When you want to take a break from gaming, the Marina Casino offers leisure facilities that include a spa with steam room, exercise facilities, and a large swimming pool for exercise and relaxation. The Marina Casino is also ideally located for taking advantage of Macau's other recreational offerings, within minutes of sightseeing venues, such as the Taipa Stadium and Macau Jockey Club, and there is a regularly scheduled shuttle to the Macau Maritime Terminal, which provides ferries to other areas in Macau and to Hong Kong.
The Marina Casino is located at Aterro COTAI, Marina da Taipa Sul. It is just 10 minutes from the Macau International Airport, which is served by many international carriers. Note that no visa is required to visit Macau or Hong Kong, but a visa is required for travel to mainland China. A passport is required for travel to Macau.
