La Jolla Trading Post & Casino in Pauma Valley, California, is a roadside convenience store, gas station and casino. The facility is tiny by most casino standards and the small arcade is little more than a corner of the store separated by a thin wall. However, the La Jolla Reservation has plans to build a larger and more extensive casino-resort. The anticipated completion date was 2006, but construction has yet to begin.
The current La Jolla Trading Post & Casino is open Friday through Saturday 7AM to 10PM, Sunday 7AM to 8PM, and is located at the entrance to the La Jolla Reservation campground. The casino has a variety of 30 gaming machines, from the classic reel slots to the newer interactive electronic games.
If you need a place to stay for the night – or even the week – try the Castle Creek Inn Resort & Spa, only 20-minutes away from the casino and nestled in an orchard of citrus trees. Choose from 33 luxurious rooms with French door equipped private balconies, 100-channel 27-inch televisions, coffee/tea services and views of the orchard and golf course.
When you’re dropping some coins at the La Jolla Trading Post & Casino and you start to get hungry, be sure to grab a sandwich or light meal from Mother’s Kitchen, the Trading Post’s restaurant. You can even get a picnic prepared and enjoy your meal in the wild. If you want to grab a bite at the hotel, the Castle Creek Inn Resort & Spa provides you with an unforgettable meal option with The View restaurant, an elegant dining area with an international menu. For drinks, try the Circle R Lounge at Castle Creek, where the intimate atmosphere and fully stocked bar will provide you a great time.
Relaxation is plentiful at the Castle Creek Inn Resort & Spa, so make sure to plan enough time to take it all in. Start with a workout at the fitness center to boost your energy for the day and then play some tennis with a friend. When you’re done, get a great massage or get your hair styled at the beauty salon. If golf’s your game, try the Castle Creek Golf Course, a championship 18-hole course designed by Jack Daray.
At night, stay and relax at the hotel lounge or take the hour-long drive to San Diego where the nightlife and party scene is plentiful. If you want to enjoy more traditional gaming late at night, Harrah’s Rincon Casino is only 12-minutes from La Jolla Trading Post & Casino.
