Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana Hotel and Casino, Playa Arena Gorda

Located in the resort town of Punta Cana, the Gran Bahia Principe Hotel & Casino is a beachside jewel. With tropical gardens in the center of the resort and 1500 feet of white sand beaches, the natural surroundings of the resort draw thousands of visitors every year.

The Gran Bahia Principe Casino, open daily from 11PM to 3AM, presents guests with casual gaming in a tropical paradise. The casino is home to five tables with Blackjack, Poker and Roulette, as well as to 15 gaming machines – both Vegas-style slot machines and various electronic games. The casino is a great place to burn some time before partying, but is hardly the Monte Carlo.

The Gran Bahia Principe Hotel gives guests a choice of 708 Junior Suites to choose from and each is situated throughout a series of two-to-three floor villas. Each room comes fully furnished in elegant décor with two full size beds or one king size bed, fluffy mattresses, sheets and blankets, satellite television and high speed Internet. If you’ve left your laptop at home, you can rent one from the hotel.

At Gran Bahia, you can be sure that there will be plenty to eat. The resort is home to eight restaurants and five bars. The Main restaurant – open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner – serves up an international buffet most hours day and night. Also available at other restaurants are Mexican, Italian, Japanese, Fish & Seafood, Steak House and Mediterranean menus.  When you’ve finished eating, visit one of the bars. The Lobby Bar serves all the drinks you could want while the Pool Bar allows you to sit in the pool as you drink. At night, patrons often visit the Karaoke and Piano Bar for music and fun.

Stay in shape during your visit; get an early workout at the fitness center, which provides guests with two sets of free weights and cardio machines. When you’re done, take a dip in the pool near the beach or jump into the Caribbean. You can take a walk through the network of tropical garden lined paths of the resort or stray into town by bike. If you’re into water sports, there’s kayaking, canoeing, sailing, surfing and jet skiing. Snorkeling is sparse however, as there is no reef off the coast.

For nightlife, there are nightly activities, from live music to cabaret shows. There are shows for children, teenagers and young adults. You can take in a game at the Sports Bar or you can sing your heart out at the Karaoke Bar. No matter your mood, there is something for you.
