Lesser Know Casino Games: Casino Hold ‘Em
When it comes to popular card games, the Hold ‘Em poker variations are usually at the top of the list, thanks to that continual favorite: Texas Hold ‘Em.
Casino Hold ‘Em (or Ca$ino Hold ‘Em, for those hip, trendy card players who love their buzzwords) has been around since the year 2000 in places such as Egypt and Russia, and has become increasingly popular in the European countries in more recent times. And it’s only a matter of time before Vegas and Atlantic City join the fun.
What makes Casino Hold ‘Em interesting is how it is played. A big difference is that players are not going up against other players this time. In actuality, they are playing against the house. And as long as the Dealer hand qualifies, then the competition heats up directly between the player and the Dealer, the advantage being that the players can get bonuses.
The game uses the standard 52 card deck. As usual, the game begins by opening up with an ante, as well as the opportunity to do a side bet if so desired. Once the bet is established, the player and Dealer are dealt out two cards that are presented in a face down manner. Then, like Texas Hold ‘Em, three community cards are dealt for a total of five cards.
Once the five cards are dealt, the player will take a look at their hand in order to decide what the next move is. Should the player fold and lose their Ante bet, or should they attempt to make a call bet that is double the amount of the original Ante bet? Making a Call puts two more cards on the board (sound familiar, you Texas Hold ‘Em buffs?), so the player now has the option of making the best five card hand from their two cards, and the five cards on the board.
Once the hand is made, the player and Dealer hands are compared, and in order for the dealer to win, they have to have the minimum of at least a pair of fours, but anything higher is always better. If the Dealer makes the qualification and has a better hand than the player, they collect the Ante and Call bets, and the player loses. If the Dealer doesn’t make it, well then you have a happy player.
Casino Hold ‘Em is still a relatively new game, but a fun one. Take the time to learn the rules, and you could be enjoying some extra money as well as the thrill of a new game.
